Stop going to bed super late due to cell phone addiction: when it’s time to go to sleep, you should ALSO put your cell phone to sleep in its own separate bed!

The issue:

It’s easy to stay up too late by browsing the Internet on a cell phone instead going to sleep.

The recommended solution to this is “don’t do that,” but it can be difficult to have enough self-discipline.

Proposal:

The solution is simple: before you go to bed, you should put your cell phone to bed in its own desktop-accessory-style bed (complete with charging cable or wireless charging pad), as shown in Figure 1.

Fig. 1: This “cell phone bed” matches the rest of your desktop items, like the cup full of pens/pencils shown here.

Now, it will be easy to avoid playing on your phone, since the phone is “sleeping” in its own bed elsewhere.

PROS: Increases well-restedness of the user.

CONS: If the “cell phone bed” is in another room—which ideally it would be—it would make it difficult to use the cell phone as an alarm clock, or to receive emergency calls.
