The issue:
It’s easy to stay up too late by browsing the Internet on a cell phone instead going to sleep.
The recommended solution to this is “don’t do that,” but it can be difficult to have enough self-discipline.
Proposal:
The solution is simple: before you go to bed, you should put your cell phone to bed in its own desktop-accessory-style bed (complete with charging cable or wireless charging pad), as shown in Figure 1.

Now, it will be easy to avoid playing on your phone, since the phone is “sleeping” in its own bed elsewhere.
PROS: Increases well-restedness of the user.
CONS: If the “cell phone bed” is in another room—which ideally it would be—it would make it difficult to use the cell phone as an alarm clock, or to receive emergency calls.
